Crazy localized gas prices

Thorntons199.jpgIt’s pretty amazing how much the price of gas can fluctuate within a city.  Out here in West Chester, where I work, the price of gas yesterday was $1.99.  In Clifton, near the Gaslight District, the Marathon had gas for $2.65!  I understand that sometimes you pay for convenience, but that spread is pretty large.

I did tank up yesterday.  It was hard to resist when gas breaks below $2, so I ended up getting 5 gallons for my car.  But, yes prices dropped again today so I once again had to fight the urge to put more gas into my car.

Deleting photos from the iPhone

I’ve been using iPhoto to download my iPhone photos to my Macintosh.  After every download, iPhoto gives you an option to delete the photos that you’ve just downloaded.  Sometimes I do, but other times I don’t because I want to keep some of those pictures in my camera roll.

The problem is that if you skip this opportunity to delete, there’s no way to delete photos from your phone using iPhoto.

Until Apple changes iPhoto, you can use an Apple application already on your computer, Image Capture that can copy and delete photos from your iPhone.

The coloreds are excited

From NYTimes.com: Democrats in Steel Country See Color, and Beyond It

“I’m no racist, but I’m not crazy about him either,” said Mr. Piroli, 77. “I don’t know, maybe ’cause he’s black.”

He winces at himself. “We was raised and worked with the black, the Serb,” he said. “It was a regular league of nations. And the economy now, it’s terrible.”

“I’ve got to vote for him,” he said finally.

Him? “The Democrat, Obama,” Mr. Piroli replied. “I can’t be stupid.”

In Ambridge, a Beaver River factory town named after the company that gave it fame — American Bridge — Olga Permon, a 71-year-old steelworker’s widow and a lifelong Democrat, climbs the stoop of her yellow-brick home. She considers the field: Mr. McCain? A grouchy old man. Ms. Palin? Please. No way. What about Mr. Obama?

Her pause goes on and on. “He scares me,” Mrs. Permon said. “The coloreds are excited, but my friends and I plan to write in Hillary’s name.”

From MSNBC.com: Sarah Palin becomes a Cabbage Patch Kid

Four one-of-a-kind Cabbage Patch Kids dolls crafted in the likeness of presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain and vice presidential candidates Joe Biden and Palin will be auctioned on the eBay.com Web site.

Yes, I’m anxiously awaiting to see what the other dolls look like.  Those are some serious cankles on the Sarah Palin doll.

UPDATE:  Found a picture of the Barack Obama and Rush Limbaugh John McCain dolls.  But, no Joe Biden.  Where are you Joe?
