The street artist Shepard Fairey and The Associated Press have ended their long-running legal battle over whether Mr. Fairey violated copyright protections in using one of the news cooperative’s photographs as the basis for the well-known “Hope” campaign poster of Barack Obama.

A vast new exhibition space opened in New York City this summer, with a show 18 months in the making. On view are works by 103 street artists from around the world, mostly big murals painted directly onto the gallery’s walls.
A cool exhibit that the public will never see because it’s installed in an abandoned underground NYC subway station.

El Mac and Retna are extremely talented street artists painting enormous works using spray paint. It’s hard to believe that El Mac can create such detailed portraits using a tool as imprecise as a spray can.
